Bhangarh Fort (Alwar, Rajasthan)
Indian Ghost Town of Bhangarh is one of the scariest places to visit in India. Visitors are only allowed here during the day due to some supernatural threats the government restricted the visit after sunset.
The story behind this fort is of the princess Ratnavati and the Tantrik of Bhangarh. It is said that a Tantrik who lived in the region has fallen in love with the beautiful princess Ratnavati. There was no way left for the Tantrik by which he could attain her. So, he decided to use black magic to get her but it didn't work and the princess came to know about the plans of the Tantrik. She manages to kill the Tantrik but during his last breath, the Tantrik cursed the places with the death of all who lived there. The next year there was a battle between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh and Ratnavati died. Despite a horrifying story, it is still one of the fascinating places to visit.
Agrasen Ki Baoli (New Delhi)
It is one of the popular haunted places in India with 108 steps. It is not just a stepwell but there are several more interesting things. It is said that King Agrasen lived during the time of Mahabharata and the stepwell was built at that time. There is no proper evidence regarding this monument how it was built. The water inside the well of Agrasen Ki Baoli is believed to hypnotize people and allure them to commit suicide. It is also said that well had black water which mysteriously killed people. We are not quite certain how far this story is correct, but nowadays well is almost dry.
Jatinga (Assam)
Jatinga is one mysterious place where the mass suicide of birds takes place. The people of Jatinga have witnessed this paranormal activity for several years. It happens on no-moon days between 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM during the September and October. People say that this suicide occurs only on a stretch of 1 mile. Many tried to resolve this mystery but none of them could find the truth and the cause behind it.
